MANUAL MACHINIST

Talos Steel is looking for a talented Manual Machinist to join our team!

This position is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Manual Machinist to join a rapidly expanding and innovative machining company in Lively, ON.

Qualifications:

• Trade qualified
• RED Seal Certified
• 5+ years of experience
• Custom and precision parts experience
• Experience editing g-codes
• Have, and maintain a positive attitude and a strong desire to work

Skills

• Excellent mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Ability to use precision measuring tools and equipment effectively
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and drawings

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following all the while maintaining the highest safety standard possible:

• Setup and operate manual machine tools, such as lathes, milling machines, drill presses, and grinders to produce components that meet precise specifications.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, or CAD files to determine machining operations, dimensions, and tolerances required for each task.
• Use precision measuring instruments, like micrometers and calipers, to take accurate measurements and ensure finished parts conform to quality standards.
• Choose appropriate cutting tools and machine settings for each operation, perform routine maintenance, and make minor repairs to equipment as needed.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to all safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
