PURCHASER

This position is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Purchaser to join a rapidly expanding and innovative machining company in Lively, ON.

Qualifications

• Minimum two (2) years experience in procurement/purchasing.
• Bachelors in business or related field considered an asset.
• Ability to create and understand Request for Proposal documentation.
• Preferred experience in industrial and manufacturing industry.
• Purchasing and distribution experience required.
• Familiarity with commercial business contracts an asset.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Effective time management skills.
• Ability to work well under pressure.

Job Duties

• Negotiate with suppliers for price, quality, timeliness and other factors.
• Maintain list of suppliers and update information regarding suppliers on a regular basis.
• Create Request for Pricing documentation.
• Produce and process requisitions, invoices, supply request and supply orders.
• Follow-up on orders to ensure delivery of products are received on time.
• Assist Payables with invoicing issues that relate to POs.
• Negotiate and interpret purchase, design contracts; establish and maintain contract records and ensure compliance with commercial contractual terms and conditions.
• Use a variety of software packages, including Microsoft Office, QuickBooks, and Supply Pro etc., to produce correspondence and documents and maintain presentations, records, spreadsheets and databases.
• Action all engineering changes to specifications advising suppliers accordingly.
• Ensure all related activities of Purchasing are fulfilled in a timely manner in compliance with Company policies.
• Perform all other duties as required.
